nearly 50 years and have one of the largest historic iris collections
in the Eastern United States. They grow many different types of
irises and have one of the few complete collections of Dykes Medal
winners. Owings has recently had a couple of Siberians introduced
for him by Draycott Gardens and has registered some 20 others.
Open: Their garden is open to visitors from far and wide. They
have conducted many tours for both local and regional events,
plus the 1991 National when it was held in the Washington, D.C.
area. The garden is always a joy to behold. It is best to call
ahead, when planning to visit.
Restrooms: private residence, available on request.

turn right and proceed 2 miles. Look for Rebert's Iris Haven sign
on the right.

Bloom-time: peak TB bloom is May 15 - June 5. Some of the original cultivars have been deleted and more will have to go this year. The aging process of the Rebert's, demand that they take care of fewer irises. Anyone interested in acquiring any of their historical stock, should try to visit during bloomtime and reserve those of your choice. They have never been a commercial garden or issued a catalog, but their list is available thru the HIPS Databank.
