This has a strong familial resemblence to Vilmorins' iris. (view a photo of Ambassadeur (Vilmorin 1920)

It is short, and was found in bloom in late fall in a planting at the Baptist Student Union, VCU.

It blooms with the early Tall Beardeds and all things considered, may possibly be Alliés (Vilmorin 1920) IB-VLa-S9D
